Recordings, new merch and shows – 2017 new year update

January 4th, 2017

Happy New Year and New Recordings!

Well, 2017 is upon us and we wanted to take a quick minute to let you all know what we have planned this year including new recordings.

Recordings:

FTLP Studios

FTLP Studios

Yes, we haven’t released anything since 2012’s Again & Again LP, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been writing. This year will see two new studio recordings from the BlackDots. First off, a split EP we are doing with the amazing Gentlemen Prefer Blood due out this spring on La Escalera Records. This is a four song EP that will include one original and a cover from each band, and our cover is a cover of our favorite Gentlemen Prefer Blood song.
BlackDots side of the split was recorded and mixed by Johhny FTP Wilson at FTLP Studios / Records and we are very excited for you to hear it!

Second, BlackDots will be heading into KMG Studios in Boulder, Colorado to record a six-song EP to be released in early fall. We have been working incredibly hard on these new songs and are very excited to have the opportunity to work with KMG to make this release a reality.

Merch:
It’s also time we offer up some new shirt and hat designs. We are incredibly lucky to have worked with and continue to work with such great artist on merch designs.
Recently, we have had the honor to have Lauren Measure (Worriers, the Measure) make us a shirt design and it’s sooo good!
We’ve had request for hoodies with Rob Helmstetter’s ‘eyeball’ logo, so that also is on the plate.

Shows:
Since I have you, we might as well talk about some show we have coming up.

Don’t Panic Fest – Denver:
Some great people here in Denver have put together this amazing punk rock fest. It’s a two-day event taking place at the Hi-Dive, 3Kings and Mutiny Cafe. Headliners include

Don't Panic Fest

Don’t Panic Fest

Pegboy and Off With Their Heads and every great punk rock band Colorado has to offer. Tickets are only $25 for a two-day pass with day passes also available.

Our next show is inDenver at Globe all with Girl Scout Heroine and Church Van. Jan 28th.

In addition, we are planning another trip to the west coast this spring that is still in the works and I’m sure many more shows will be played this year since we have some much fun doing it, so stay tuned for that.

Finally, we want to thank Will Castro and the La Escalera family, all the dudes in Gentlemen Prefer Blood, Johhny FTLP Wilson and FTLP Studios, Dammit Damian at Mostly Harmless & Don’t Panic Fest and all of our best friends here in Denver and everywhere else that come out to our shows and keep pushing us to stay focused and to keep having fun.

Thank you all and have a wonderful year,
XOXO BlackDots
